Trivia Night Coordinator(s): Our current coordinator would love some help! Our coordinator currently organizes our yearly adult Trivia Night: reserves a rooms and food, distributes flyers, collects registrations, recruits volunteers (never an issue here!) and plans prizes prior to the event. At the event, the coordinator(s), with help from the many volunteers, sets up the room, runs the registration booth, and holds various raffles throughout the night. Take part in any or all of the activities! 5 hours annually/need to be present at the event.
Restaurant Night Coordinator(s)- This coordinator reaches out to local restaurants in Verona and Fitchburg to coordinate a date and time frame when CKCS families can patronize the restaurant. A percentage of the proceeds would benefit the school. We already have many good restaurant partnerships - we just need someone to schedule with those and call around to find a few more! 5 hours annually.
Merchandise Coordinator(s) –Our current coordinator would like another coordinator to help with managing merchandise sales. Currently, we have a company who sends out monthly emails about merchandise (very low effort), with a portion of the proceeds coming back to CKCS - but we’d love to explore new design options, new companies, and figure out a better way to advertise. 4 hours per year.
New Fundraising Coordinator(s) - As a small charter school, we are always looking for ways to fundraise - a penny drive? a bake sale? read-a-thon? lemonade stand? parents night out? We’d love to get some new and fun ideas - come with the energy to lead and we can help with volunteers. 4 hours and must be present at event
Grant Writer(s) - Another way we get money is through grants - help us find new grants and apply! We have many great places to get you started! This is an on-your-own-schedule volunteer position for someone who can do some online writing. 8 hours annually
Box Tops Coordinator(s) - Box Tops are a great way to get money without a lot of effort on the part of our parents. Duties would simply include checking in at the box tops app and using a few of their coordinator resources to help our parents use this great resource - maybe by posting on our Facebook page or choosing a flier for us to print for school events! 4 hours annually
New Student Coordinator(s) - This position will assist our Vice President of Community Building to establish and facilitate events aimed at welcoming new students/families into the CKCS community. Planned events include setting up, communicating and facilitating a playdate for incoming Kindergarten/new students prior to the start of the school year and helping to organize and find volunteers for new student informational sessions. Possible duties include: finding current families that would be willing to serve as a “mentor” family for an incoming family; matching up “mentor” families with incoming students' families; finding and attending events aimed at recruiting incoming students. 10 hours annually/would need to attend the playdate event.
Welcome Night Folder Coordinator(s) - Planned duties are to create the welcome folder for the school’s welcome night (all based on templates in our shared google folder!), assemble and drop off at the school - but we’d also love to redesign some documents. 5 hours annually/would need to attend the back to school event.
Adult Social Coordinator(s)- Coordinate an activity for CKCS parents to come together as a community. Prior events include bingo nights and a social at a local restaurant - other ideas very welcome! Typically this event has been held in the Fall but an additional Spring event could also be coordinated. No dates are currently set. 4 hours annually per event.
Family Night Coordinator(s) – The Family Night Coordinator(s) will coordinate/facilitate the Family Night event to be held on February 23rd, 2023. Duties include: determining the type of event (previously run events have been Movie night or Family game night at the school), recruiting volunteers to run the event/serve food, working with PRT to market the event. 4 hours per event/need to be present at the event.
Directory Creator – The Directory Creator will create a yearly sign up (from a template in google forms!), share with parents via a flier and qr code, and then take entries from the sign up and create a school directory in google docs. 2 hours.
Trunk or Treat Coordinator(s) – This person would organize our one dance scheduled this year. It takes place on October 27th, 2023. Coordinator would schedule DJ, create and distribute flyers (we have templates!), recruit volunteers (never a problem with this event!), order and serve food (usually pizza from Costco). 4 hours annually/need to be present at the event.
Book Swap Coordinator(s) – Our current coordinator would love another coordinator! This person would help to organize our yearly K-5 Book Swap, create and distribute flyers, recruit volunteers (never a problem!), collect and sort books based on grade level. Event is scheduled for April 11th, 2024. 6 hours annually/need to be present at the event.
Field Day Coordinator(s) – The Field Day Coordinator(s) would help organize our yearly Field Day held in May. Coordinator(s) will work to recruit volunteers to run stations and to help out with each class and to manage marketing/communication for the event. Activity stations have already been selected. Volunteer and teacher handouts have already been created, but need to be distributed. This is a fun event that always gets tons of volunteers to help out! 8 hours annually/need to be present at the event.
